Thursday, October 18, 2012 - 3:00pm - 4:30pm
Columbia University
Morningside Campus

What
does it mean to live and work in the cloud? What are the benefits? What
are the trade-offs? Is it secure? How do I protect my privacy?
If you are interested in any aspect of cloud computing - from what is to how to use it - please come to our talk. We will examine the ways cloud computing can help you be more productive and efficient and critically examine issues such as privacy and security. Examples will include Web 2.0 tools and technologies such as: Google Drive, Dropbox, New Courseworks, Wikispaces, EdBlogs, WebDav, CyberDuck, and RSS.
The seminar is ideal for Columbia faculty and instructors who are interested in safely harnessing the power of cloud computing.
