CCNMTL rewirED Series: Media Analysis and Annotations

This
session is ideal for Columbia faculty and instructors who are
interested in creating innovative, multimedia-based assignments and
elevating their students' analysis of videos and images. We will explore
methods to improve students' skills of observation, interpretation, and
reasoning using videos, images, and text. Learn how Columbia schools
such as Arts and Sciences, Journalism, Social Work, and Teachers College
are deepening their students' judgment and self-reflection through
media analysis. Specifically, we will address how to structure
assignments that include annotations, clips, and tags from sources such
as YouTube, Flickr, ArtStor, and course libraries. Tools presented will
include Voicethread, Wikispaces, and CCNMTL's annotation platform,
Mediathread
