CCNMTL RewirED - Rework, Remix, Reuse: Prompting a Participatory Culture in your Course. This session, offered by Adrienne Garber and Michael Cennamo,
educational technologists at the Columbia Center for New Media,
Teaching and Learning (CCNMTL) and Mark Phillipson, Interim Director of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences Teaching Center,
is ideal for Columbia faculty and instructors who are interested in
creating innovative, multimedia-based assignments and elevating their
students video and image analysis. We will explore methods of analysis
to improve students skills of observation, interpretation, reasoning,
judgment and self-reflection using videos, images and text.
Specifically, topics such as media literacy, appropriation, creation and
production of digital works via resources such as Audacity, Handbrake,
YouTube, Flickr, Pinterest, Voicethread, Wikispaces, and CCNMTL's
annotation platform Mediathread, will be addressed.
