Speaker: Dr. Germano Mendes de Paula is currently a Professor of Economics at Federal University of Uberlandia in Brazil. He is a specialist as well as authority on mining and steel industries in Latin America and since 1989, has been dedicated to the analysis of the world's iron ore and steel. He has published a number of books, studies and articles on the topic and has regularly contributed to Steel Times International of UK, Aluminium International Today of UK and Metallurgy and Materials of Brazil.

Dr. Mendes de Paul holds a Bachelor in Economics from the Federal University of Uberlandia, Masters degree and Ph.D. in Economics from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro with Post Doctorate inEconomics from the University of Oxford.
