Orientation Schedule

8:00-9:00 a.m. Registration

Grab a cup of coffee and breakfast, pick up your name tag, your Columbia I.D., the schedule of the day's events and your GS messenger bag, filled with information and goodies.

9:00 a.m. Dean's Welcome

Orientation Sessions

  • Columbia Community Standards and Academic Integrity
  • Financing Your Education and Understanding Your Columbia E-Bill
  • Group Advising Sessions with your Academic Advisor
  • How to Get Involved in Extracurricular Activities at Columbia 
  • Academic Support Services at Columbia
  • Balancing Family, Work, and Study
  • Transitioning from Community College to a Four-Year College
Lunch with GS Orientation Leaders.

Placement exams will be available in the late afternoon.

A reception hosted by the General Studies Student Council will be held from 4:00-6:00 p.m.
