GSAS Teaching Center Workshop: Intensifying and Extending Class Discussions

In this session we examine how course-based discussion can be improved and extended through pedagogical design and Web 2.0 communication tools. The session is ideal for current and future instructors who are interested in discovering new ways to stimulate and control discussion both inside and outside of the classroom, and are curious about using tools to do so such as polls, surveys, discussion boards, blogs, tweets, and audience response systems (such as clickers). This session is a collaboration with Columbia Center for New Media Teaching and Learning's RewirED series.
