Theatrum Mundi / Global Street - Presence and Absence in the City

This annual conference hosted by Saskia Sassen (Robert S. Lynd Professor of Sociology, Columbia University) and Richard Sennett (University Professor of the Humanities, New York University) will bring together visual artists, choreographers, architects and others with sociologists and urbanists from academia to discuss the changing urban landscapes of the present and future.

  • This event is free and open to the public. Registration is not required. Seating is available on a first come, first served basis.  
  • Co-organized by the Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation and the Institute for Public Knowledge (New York University).
