Columbia University Web Advisory Committee

The Columbia Web Advisory Committee oversees the development of the Columbia Web site as an effective means for communicating with, and providing information to, both the Columbia community and external constituencies. The Committee reports to the Provost and the Senior Executive Vice President. It advises on matters relating to the content and design and on the overall functionality of the Columbia Web site, including issues relating to navigation, indexing, search functionality and archiving.

Another critical function of the Committee is to advise on the development of principles and guidelines for the Columbia Web site, and to proactively encourage contributing units (schools, departments, and centers) to apply these in order to maintain accurate, timely, and effective sites that conform to accessibility, usability, security, and privacy guidelines.
