Getstats commands fall into three groups:

• READ commands
• WRITE commands
• SET commands

The READ commands are used to read one or more log files into memory. After all files have been read, the WRITE commands are used to produce various reports. Some of the SET commands affect reading, and must be issued before any READ commands. The other SET commands affect writing, and apply to subsequent WRITE commands.
