The Shoji Of Late Fall

Yet another example of this preference towards abstract geometric forms and their interactions can be seen in Shoji paper that covers so much of the surface of Katsura Detached Palace.  Careful inspection of these Shoji also reveal yet another staple in the Japanese aesthetic diet: the special attention paid to the seasons and their effects.  The gentle yellowish haze is caused by the sunlight in late fall.
