Middle Treasury

Pictured to the left are two of the Treasuries in the Toshogu complex.

These buildings are built in the style of traditional storehouses, much like a log cabin.  The buildings contain such treasures as historical costumes for the annual festival which Toshogu is so famous for.

The Upper Treasury is notable for its creativity and free form.  The designers seemed to take an uninhibited approach to this building and broke from the norm they had established.

The Middle Treasury presents a much more traditional view with its Japanese style.  It is devoid of the ornate wall sculptures and carvings that adorn the Upper Treasury.
