VSMC, in part through effects on K+
channels.
Evidence suggests that primary
mechanism is through KCa, but also via
KATP (cross-activation of PKA)
Endothelium derived hyperpolarizing
factor (probably distinct from
endothelium derived relaxing factor/NO)
may activate KATP.
Prostacyclin hyperpolarizes VSMC,
probably via activation of KATP.
Adenosine activates KATP probably via
activation of PKA
