The epithelial Na+
channel (ENaC) is comprised of three subunits; a, b, and

g and plays an essential role in Na+ and fluid
absorption in the kidney, colon

and lung.

EnaC is a
short-lived protein with a t1/2 of ~ 1 hour of its total
cellular pool
|
as well as a
short half-life of protein at the cell surface.
