Requirements include close reading of the weekly assignments, a one-page electronic memo posted by 4 p.m. Tuesday reflecting on the readings, active participation in class discussion, one or two turns in leading class discussion by posing initial questions for debate, and a ten-page analytic essay. A course pack, which includes many of the required readings, is available for purchase, and the rest of the required books are on order at Labyrinth, between 112th and Broadway, and at the NYU Bookstore. The course pack and books are also on reserve at Starr East Asian Library in Kent Hall at Columbia. |
