Course Resources for CDM Students
CourseWorks@Columbia is the University
course management system. Most of your courses will have active course
websites that you can access through CourseWorks. To login to CourseWorks
you will need your University Network ID (UNI) and password. Your UNI
is the first part of your Columbia University email address, e.g. abc2005.
To activate your UNI go to http://uni.columbia.edu/.
The curriculum map is a graphical representation
of the CDM curriculum with links to the all course websites in the dental
program.
VirTechs is an interactive Web-based
dental laboratory manual provides students with access to detailed instruction
on procedures and treatments. The VirTechs collection includes video
demonstrations, instructions, and supplementary materials for learning
the dental procedures that are covered in a student's preclinical and
clinical studies.
No password required.
VITAL is a video-based digital teaching
and learning environment, for use in clinical practice courses. The
environment allows students to view a digital video library of observations
and/or clinical interviews and to construct multimedia essays incorporating
references to texts and videos. VITAL also stores all student work,
allowing for sharing and peer review.

The Image Annotation Tool (IAT) is Web-based
application designed to annotate of images. The IAT has two main
functions, one is to organize and categorize course-related images into
collections and the second is to facilitate adding annotations to images.
An image annotation takes the form of a label associated with area(s)
on an image. Every user is also provided with a personal library where
images can be uploaded.
