- Student clinical procedures are evaluated on the "process"
and not merely the end "product". Process includes knowledge
of and preparation for the planned procedure and also the management
of the patient. (Refer to the Pediatric Dental Evaluation Form for
further details).
- When an instructor determines that an unusual amount of assistance
has been required during the provision of a service, he/she may elect
to issue a "Pass" grade for a demonstration. This is in lieu
of a poor letter grade for lack of knowledge or ability of appropriate
level. "Pass" grades apply toward fulfillment of requirements.
- Professional demeanor is considered when evaluating performance.
The following criteria are included when evaluating professional demeanor:
- Child management
- Attitude and initiative
- Cooperativeness and interest
- Personal appearance and hygiene
- Cleanliness, neatness, and orderliness in treatment and treatment
area
- Comprehension and execution of treatment
- Maintenance of patient records
- PEDIATRIC DENTISTRY CLINICAL REQUIREMENTS
