Nutrition Components of Pharmacology

In the Pharmacology course, several areas relevant to nutrition are covered, such as lipids, diabetes mellitus, and gastrointestinal disease. Students will be able to use their knowledge of nutrition from the 1st year course to integrate dietary interventions with drug treatment options.

  • Nausea, vomiting and antiemetic therapy
  • Drugs affecting the gastrointestinal tract
  • Retinoidsand vitamin D analogs
  • Insulin and oral hypoglycemic drugs
  • Therapeutics of disorders in calcium metabolism
