Ductus Deferens

#58 Ductus Deferens, Human, H&E or trichrome (Masson)

Note the similarity of the lining epithelium of the ductus deferens with that of the epididymis. Characteristic of this organ is the stellate appearance of the lumen, and thick muscularis. The muscularis consists of an inner longitudinal, middle circular, and outer longitudinal layers; these are particularly prominent on the Masson-stained slide. Observe the arteries, veins and nerves that surround and penetrate the ductus deferens.
