The opening-verse is by way of introduction. Though indeed, the zila between jam((a-afganii and ;xaalii is interesting. Then, jam((a-afganii itself is a fresh word. The word martabah means 'rank' or 'extent, limit'; but a suggestion of its meaning of 'time, turn' is also present-- that the woundedness can manifest itself again and again.
