ek bedaad-gar-e ranj-fizaa aur sahii

1) Ghalib, Ala'i required/caused me to write this ghazal
2) a single/particular/unique/excellent injustice-doer who increases sorrow-- more, indeed!

Notes:

fizaa : 'Increasing, augmenting, enhancing (used as last member of compounds)'. (Platts p.781)

aur : 'And, also, for the rest, besides, again, moreover; but, yet, still; over, else; and lo!; — another, other, different; more, additional'. (Platts p.104)

FWP:

SETS == EK

This ghazal is extremely late (1865) and has received very little commentarial attention.

On the idiomatic range of sahii expressions, see {9,4}.

This is a light-hearted, personal kind of closing-verse that Ghalib never created during his years of serious ghazal composition. It teasingly shows his affection for his dear friend Ala'i, by playfully abusing him.
