"A fabulous example of antique Damascene work, this impressive copper tray is smothered in superb silver inlays including beautiful Islamic inscriptions. The silver inlays themselves have been engraved with fine detail. This item dates from around the year 1900 & was made in Damascus. The detail is terrific, the outer rim has twelve miniature inscribed roundels & the central field has a solid silver medallion engraved with exquisite Islamic script. Please note the inner borders which are teeming with swimming fish. The tray measures 25¾ inches wide & weighs almost 16½lbs (7.5 kilos)."
