"PRAYERBOOK, SAFAVID IRAN, 16TH CENTURY. Comprising various suwar, Arabic manuscript on paper, 35ff. with 12ll. of black naskh on gold-sprinkled buff paper, text outlined with green, orange and gold rules, each sura with illuminated heading, blue and gold illuminated marginal medallions marking verse count, 19th century Ottoman red morocco binding with gold tooled medallion and spandrels, repaired at spine. Folio 8 3/8 x 5½in. (21.5 x 14.2cm.).

Lot Notes This prayerbook contains Qur'an I (al-fatiha), VI (al-an'am), XVIII (al-kahf), XXXIV (al-saba) and XXXV (al-fatir)."
