Technologies and equipment common to a wide range of surface and sub-surface engineering activities: mine reclamation, hazardous waste remediation, discovering and operating surface and underground mines, detection and removal of hidden underground objects, waste disposal, dredging and harbor rehabilitation, and tunneling for transportation or water distribution systems. These methods and equipment are examined as they apply across the spectrum from mining to environmental engineering projects. The aim is to provide a broad background for earth and environmental engineers who will prepare for careers involving minerals, and industrial and large scale environmental projects.
