Class Syllabus

Course Objectives:
The aim is to provide a broad background for earth and environmental engineers who will prepare for careers involving minerals, and industrial and large scale environmental projects.

    Surface development
    Surface methods
    Underground development
    Underground methods - unsupported systems
    Underground methods - supported systems
    Underground methods - caving systems
    Novel methods : in situ, ocean mining, hydraulic systems, automation and robotics.

Homework: 25%
Midterm: 25%
Final : 50%
Late assignments (2 days or less) 10% discount
Late assignments (3 - 7 days) 50% discount
No assignments are accepted after 7 days.
