Course Requirements

Statistical Programs

The preferred statistical package is SPSS for Windows, which is supported in the SIPA Computer lab.  The lab supports other packages as well, however, such as STATA.  You may use any statistical package you choose.  While students will be introduced to micro-computing and taught how to use SPSS, all students are strongly encouraged to enroll in the SIPA Computer Skills Course.  You can obtain more information about the course and your lab sticker at the SIPA lab, which is located on the 5^th floor of IAB. 

Grading

There will be a midterm exam (30%), a final (40%), and problem sets (30%).  In borderline cases, the regularity and quality of your class attendance/participation will weigh heavily in determination of a final grade.
