1) Variable : any characteristic or attribute of persons, objects, or events that can take on different numerical values
2) Validity: the degree to which a variable’s operationalization accurately reflects the concept it is intended to measure
3) Reliability: the extent to which different operationalizations of the same concept produce consistent results
