Bulletin Board Guidelines

Guidelines for using the bulletin board system include the following:

At a minimum of once every two weeks, students will either
1.) respond to a question that is embedded in the syllabus about the coming week's content
2.) provide commentary on another aspect of the course content in the coming week or
3.) respond to a classmate's posting.

All postings need to be 2 paragraphs or less and 250 words or less.

Students will be graded on their participation on the bulletin board along the following criteria
1.) consistency of posting - did they post at least once every two weeks?
2.) ability to make their points in a concise and articulate manner - did their postings exceed the 2 paragraph/250 word limit?
3.) content - were their postings provocative?
4.) familiarity with material - did their postings indicate thoughtful consideration of classroom materials such as lectures, readings and online materials?
