File RMKREAD.ME1 from RM Kermit Disk 1.

						11th July 1985.

This disk contains the C-source code files and the documentation
of RML Kermit, version 1.22, 10th July 1985. Kermit Disk 2 contains
the .EXEs, the .Os (object-files from Aztec-C 1.06d) and sample .BATs
(MSDOS implementation for RM Nimbus), the .COMs, the .RELs and sample
.SUBs (CP/M implementation for RML 480Z).

RMKNODDY.DOC and RMKINFO.DOC describe this implementation from
the user's point of view. RMKGEN.DOC describes the procedures for
generating modified versions. RMKIFACE.DOC gives the information
required for writing suitable support-modules to run on a system other
than a Research Machines Nimbus or 480Z. The documentation is not
fully formatted, due to lack of SCRIBE or a similar formatter, but
may be viewed directly on screen or sent to printer.

This disk, as issued, is formatted for IBM PC. It will read on
RM Nimbus (not on 480Z), though less efficiently than a disk formatted
for Nimbus. The .EXEs will NOT run on IBM PC!

In a accordance with Columbia policy, RML makes this code freely
available to the worldwide Kermit fraternity, but is not to be held
responsible for any effects whatsoever of any use made of it. The
principal attributes of this Kermit are that it has a menu-driven user
interface, is strong on diagnostics and general user-information, and
should be transportable to almost any micro with a C-compiler.
