Family and friends of Columbia's graduates are an integral part of the University Commencement celebration. Each guest over the age of three will need a ticket to enter the Morningside Campus or Levien Gymnasium on the morning of the ceremony.
Guest tickets to the University Commencement ceremony will be made available to degree candidates attending the ceremony. The impressive number of graduates, along with the spatial and security constraints of campus, necessitates a limit of tickets per student. Ticket allowances will be announced in the spring semester.
Tickets allow entrance into Morningside Campus as well as the weather-friendly, indoor ceremony in the Levien Gymnasium of Dodge Fitness Center on Commencement Day. Tickets do not guarantee a seat. Seats are on a first-come, first-served basis, they are unassigned, and cannot be reserved. Degree candidates are responsible for distributing their requested tickets to their guests prior to Commencement Day.
Tickets are required for entry. Guests may enter campus starting at 8:30 a.m. and must present their tickets for scanning or collection in order to enter either campus location indicated above. Guests will not be permitted to re-enter campus after exiting.
