I am a graduate student and the Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science Presidential Fellowship holder at the Department of Electical Engineering at Columbia University in the City of New York. My advisor is prof. Tony Jebara. I am co-advised by prof. Claire Monteleoni. I am also collaborating with prof. Shih-Fu Chang and prof. Rafa Yuste. I have received Master Degree with honors from Warsaw University of Technology, Department of Electronics and Information Technology. I have finished two specializations: Electronics and Computer Engineering and Electronics and Informatics in Medicine. My advisor was prof. Antoni Grzanka. In the past I was working in the research team of prof. Ryszard Grygorczyk from the Research Centre, Centre hospitalier de l'Universite de Montreal on developing fast automatic system for 3D monitoring of lung epithelial cells from fluorescence images. The goal of the project was to better understand the mechanisms involved in the regulation and sensing of volume changes of those cells. The project was supported by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) and Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC). It was also done in collaboration with the research team of prof. Ignacy Gryczynski and prof. Karol Gryczynski in the Center for Commercialization of Fluorescence Technologies (CCFT) at the University of Texas at Forth Worth. I was also having collaboration with prof. Richard Doty, Director of Smell and Taste Center at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology: Head and Neck Surgery, University of Pennsylvania. I was a visitor student in His lab, working on better understanding and improving the hardware and software used in electrogustometric trials. That work was related with my Master's thesis and research that I was doing under the supervision of prof. Antoni Grzanka. I was also a visitor student in prof. David Yun's lab at the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. My scientific interests focus on machine learning both theoretical and applicable to the variety of real-life phenomena. Currently my main research projects focus on numerical optimization, conditional random fields, structured prediction, graphical models, learning from datastreams, prediction with experts' advise, supervised and unsupervised online learning, online clustering with experts. I am also interested in the stability of learning algorithms and stability of clustering. I have also been working on applying machine learning to analyse neural circuits, particularly 3D reconstruction of neurons from confocal microscopy images and classification of neurons. I am a member of New York Academy of Sciences. I am a reviewer for the International Conference on Machine Learning (ICML). You can find my Curriculum Vitae here .
