Studies in Medieval Records

This bibliography is intended to offer suggestions for finding your way in historical research based on documentary evidence.  It is quirky, rather than complete; consider items listed in various categories simply as examples.  Van Caenegem [I.A] can fill in any and all holes.  In Part I, works principally useful for non-documentary research (e.g., guides to narrative sources, serial bibliographies of works on medieval philosophy…) have been omitted.  Please notify the instructor if you find any errors or (better yet) other, more useful, instruments of research.
