Save Sight Missions is a non-profit foundation established as a gift account at Columbia University founded by and chaired by Antonio M. Gonzales, MD with the help of  Stanley Chang, MD, Chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology at The New York Presbyterian Medical Center. Initial seed money was raised at the Christmas Concert at Clark Auditorium, Columbia University and at  Merkin Concert Hall in New York City.

Save Sight Missions had been a co-sponsor with  various medical and civic associations from 1993 to 2000. In 2001, Dr. Antonio M. Gonzales became President of USTMAA Foundation, since then Save Sight Missions had been involved with the residents in ophthalmology at the University of Santo Tomas Hospital and Infant Jesus Hospital.


In 2004, the year after ending the term of the Presidency, Save Sight conducted the 1st In-House Save Sight Mission at the University of  Santo Tomas  Hospital.
