My friend Matt Korostof was talking about how he asked his roommates
for rent a few days ago and one of them, Matt Cordeiro, expressed concern
when asked.
"What is it, are you going to be short in rent?" -M.K.
"No, I just wish I had more notice" -M.C.
When Matt Korostof told this story to a group of us, he made the point
that the first of the month is always the same every month, and it's
been like that since the beginning of the earth. To this, another friend who was
in the room, John, responded:
"To be fair, it's been like that since the creation of the Julian Calendar,
so he's only had about 700 years to get used to this."
