The Gothic Prašná brána (Powder Tower) rises 65 meters to the ridge of its chisel cap. It stands guard over what was the main approach to Prague from Kutná Hora. Built around 1475 it replaced one of the original 13 towers forming the Old Town's defenses and was intended to enhance the area around the Royal Palace.
