Josef Václav Myslbek designed this famous statue of Wenceslas, the patron saint of the Czech Republic. Conceived in 1887, the statue took decades to make. Four flanking figures were added atop the polished granite base in the early 1920s. They represent Bohemia's patron saints: Ludmila, Agnes, Procopius, and Vojtěch. The statue stands before the magnificent Národní Muzeum (National Museum) and has become a meeting place for Prague's residents.
