March 14, 2005. The proposed ban on photography was not adopted by the M T A because of opposition by the public and by some elected officials. But it is still on the table. It remains to be seen whether this is a face-saving way to let it slide into oblivion or a way to adopt it quietly after things calm down. For now, the tourists with cameras are safe.
