The best news is that Barry’s album In the Now was released in October. The song of the same title was released online as a single in August. Days after it was available the single reached number 1 on iTunes and Amazon.
One other new song by Barry called ‘Angels’ appeared in a film called Shepherds and Butchers, set in South Africa under apartheid. It is not on In the Now. The version by Vusi Mahlasela was issued as a single.
The Warners deal is done. In November it was announced that Capitol Records signed the Bee Gees and planned to reissue the works and unreleased tracks, under a deal that starts in 2017. Whether the latter will really happen is as yet unknown. Whether there will be dozens of more or less greatest hits collections is as yet unknown.
No new songs are known. Those on Barry Gibb’s album were written in 2015 or earlier.
No sessions are known.
