Carlos Abad

I am a Ph.D. student in the Industrial Engineering and Operations Research department at Columbia University. My work is focused on developing operations research based methods for solving problems related to energy sustainability. My research interests include compressive sensing, dynamic programming, robust optimization, mechanism design, and their applications to the economics and control of the electricity grid. Currently, I am working on control and expansion strategies for solar micro-grids in developing countries. My advisors are Garud Iyengar and
Vijay Modi. I am expecting to graduate this coming spring, and I am currently on the academic job market. Here is my CV.
