Scouting

ADVANCEMENT

Advancement is an important part of any Boy Scout troop.  Due to a large number of young scouts in the troop this year, we will focus on basic scout skills and advancement more than usual this year.  It, therefore, seems appropriate to

PATROLS

Within the troop boys are divided into patrols of between 5 and 8 Scouts.  Scouts work together as a Troop most of the time, however for duties such as cooking (on campouts), setting up a camp site, for some demonstrations and in some games, patrols are the units which work together.  Presently, we have three patrols as follows. Each patrol member will be given the opportunity to serve as patrol leader for a week. At the end of this time we will hold elections and choose a patrol leader for the remainder of the year.

The Panther patrol is the oldest patrol in the troop.  The present Panthers are:

The Wise Ol' (not old!) Owl patrol is the patrol for the adult leadership. The omnipresent Owls are:
