After saying goodbye to my wife Chia-Jane in the morning around 10:00 AM, I walked out to the bank of Hudson River and saw the twin towers burning. I thought it was a serious attack, but didn't realize the buildings were going to collapse.
After witnessing the twin towers collapsing, my heart was broken. I didn't know what to do and where to go. Everywhere was crowded. Finally I decided to go back to NYU Medical Center which was closer than where I was than Columbia University.
Upon arriving in my old lab, I tried to call my wife, but the line was always busy. The only thing I could use was internet. Following is the message of that day I communicated with my wife and other people.
Kun,
call me if you are there

I made a big mistake. I should have stayed at home.
The tower collapsed in front of my eyes.
I couldn't realize it was real
until 1 minute after it happened. The lady next to me said she
was in that
tower 1 hour ago.
The phone line in our area I am afraid is brokern.
Can you log in aol
instant messenger on PC?
