Liverpool Fanzines and Books

Through The Wind & Rain

PO Box 23, Bootle, Merseyside, L30 2SA, England. 15 quid per year (money orders payable to S. Kelly, or $25 in $5 bills), 52 pages, A4/letter size. Four issues per year. Superb! The Daddy of all Liverpool fanzines. An insightful and humorous look at LFC events on and off the pitch. Incredible amount of print and level of detail. Well-researched and critical reviews of the media, Mancs, Everton and LFC itself by the likes of Red Boy of Differdange, Prometheus, Blockhead 208 and Fatman On The Lower Centenary. The Story So Far brings you up to date and the letters section is the best around.

Red All Over The Land

PO Box 296, Loughborough, Leics., LE11 4ZR, England. 25 quid per year (money orders payable to J. Pearman, or $40 in $5 bills), 44 pages, A4/letter size. Ten or eleven issues a year. Highly improved “first cousin” to TTW&R. Production and content getting better with each issue. Includes The Kop Chart, reports of European away trips, flag days and “Reds On The Piss” - all you need to know about away games. Staunch campaigner for the interests of Liverpool supporters - tickets, policing, travel, etc. - and motivator to ensure the Kop remains unique. Be Loud and Proud! Accompanying songbook, “Let Me Tell You The Story” out soon. More of the same, and great pictures of the Kop in Paris, can be found on RAOTL's web site Red All Over the land

In addition to the above, two books written by lifelong Liverpudlian Eddie Cotton are highly recommended:

The Voice of Anfield

is a compilation of supporters’ accounts of going to away games in the seventies and eighties. Not the safest time to go to the match as the book recounts!

Back Where we Belong

is the behind-the-scenes story of the 1995/96 season as seen by Eddie who, as a reporter at the time, gives us the low-down on the big names and the reality of life at LFC.

Both books are available for $15 (in $5 bills), inc. p&p, from Eddie Cotton, Flat 1, 35 Radstock Road, Kensington, Liverpool, L6 3AY, England. Money orders payable to E. Cotton.
