I am currently studying architecture at Columbia University GSAPP, seeking a Masters in Architecture. This is now my second year of graduate school where I will be working in depth studying and designing high a density housing project in the NY/Tri-State area, in addition to continuing my work on parametrics (including research into parametrics in renaissance architecture ie. Piranesi, Guilio Romano), scripting swarm intelligence for use in architecture, as well as an air-lab on Mars. Currently I am working with fellow classmates on a competition for the Center for Urban Farming.
My professional career between my undergrad at UC Berkeley and graduate school in Columbia was an exciting two years at Ari H. Hope Architects in San Francisco, where I served as first a designer/drafter and eventually the assistant project manager on projects including the Ridhwan Center, as well as custom private residences for a Silicon Valley CEO and CFO. Other organizations I have worked with include CAS Architects, David Kesler Architect, and Lockheed Martin Space Systems.
In addition to architecture, building and programing robots has been a passion of mine for the past decade. When I was growing up in Silicon Valley, this interest led me to become president of the robotics club of my high school. In my time leading this organization we achieved numerous awards at the national level, including a 2nd place prize for a research and design project on Assistive Robotics in Alzheimer patients. We also won 2nd place honors in the NASA Kipr Silicon Valley Botball competition as well as 9 others on both the national and regional scale.
Our current projects include a RoboMagellan navigation rover and a 500g mini-sumo robot.
Web design is another area of focus, of late. Current and past projects include an Umbrella Site for GSAPP students, a public page for a non-profit called Young New Yorkers, an architecture firm - Ari H. Hope Architects, and a now defunt robotics club page.
