NEW YORK - PARIS
CURRICULUM AND REQUIREMENTS

All students must choose either the Architectural Design Studio or the Urban Studies Studio. Each option provides 32 points of course work to be completed in two terms. Courses are taught by faculty members of the Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation, and by professional architects, planners, and preservationists in both cities.
The following are year courses, given in sequence, and grades will be assigned at the end of the spring term:
Architecture, planning , and preservation (New York & Paris)		6 pts
Building New York and the Development of Paris	                      	6 pts
Design Studio or Urban Studies Studio (New York & Paris)		8 pts
History of cities ( American & European)				6 pts

Elective (New York) 3 pts Freehand Drawing (Paris) 3 pts

These courses ground the program in the rigorous review of urban history and urban form, provide the academic structure for the students� comparative analysis of New York and Paris, and complement the liberal arts curricula of participating colleges.
