Evelyn Attia, MD
Associate Director

Dr. Evelyn Attia is Associate Director of The Eating Disorders Clinic at NYSPI/CPMC, and an Associate Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons. Dr. Attia received an A.B. from Princeton University, and an M.D. from Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons. Formerly the director of NYSPI's inpatient eating disorders program, Dr. Attia is currently studying disturbances in serotonin function in anorexia nervosa. She has received a Young Investigator Award from the National Alliance for Research in Schizophrenia and Depression (NARSAD), and a Scholars Grant for Faculty Development in Women's Health from Pfizer and The Society for Women's Health Research (SWHR). Most recently, she has received a Mentored Patient-Oriented Research Career Development Award from the National Institute for Mental Health (NIMH) for her study entitled, "Serotonin's Role in the Psychobiology of Anorexia Nervosa."
