Montefiore Hospital on 210th Street, just off Bainbridge Avenue. This is
the original Montefiore building in the Bronx, dating from 1912. There are
many
more Montefiore buildings in the immediate area, plus additional
campuses in other parts of the Bronx as well as in Mount Vernon, New
Rochelle, White Plains, Nyack, and elsewhere. North Central Bronx public
hospital is on the left — it is one of only 11 public hospitals in New
York City; it doubled its capacity in April and opened a dedicated COVID-19
ICU on May 5th (
see article).
