Amber Rose Isaac, a graduate student at Concordia College, who died in childbirth at Montefiore Hospital on April 21st; see article, just one story in hundreds of thousands, where it is noted that black women are nearly eight times more likely to die from pregnancy-related causes than white women, and that's when there's not a pandemic raging. She lived in the northwest Bronx, on Broadway, about a mile north of Lloyd's Carrot Cake, her favorite. Two weeks after her death, her partner received a bill for $2000.
