On October 31, 2005, ground was broken on the long-promised revitalization of the Harlem Piers, to include an extended bike-and-running path, an enclosed marketplace area, a pier for fishing and other recreational uses, and a pier for commercial ferry service (as there was here a long time ago), scheduled for completion in 2007.
