I think Rog and I went to Bavaria twice: once by Army bus for a week's R&R in Berchtesgaden at Uncle Sam's expense, staying in an Army hotel; Roger did some skiing and one day a German guy took us on a car tour that included a minor King Ludwig castle, Oberammergau, and Innsbrück. Another time (probably from Stuttgart) we went by car, stopping in Würzburg, Nürnberg, Regensburg, and Dachau, where we spent a good part of the day at the death camp, and then on to Munich. I don't remember much more than that. On one of these trips, Rog and I climbed the Kehlstein (1800m) near Obersalzburg. The photos in this section were taken on a separate trip Roger took to Garmisch. I, myself, never took any photos on any of these trips; I arrived in Kaiserslautern with a good Agfa 35mm camera, but it disappeared after I took my first roll of film, which can be seen in this gallery (the black and white photos in the first section).
