Alexander John Bergen, Mama Lori's first husband and father of Consuelo. Known as John. Born in St. Kitts, British West Indies, probably in the mid-1890s. In the USA he was in the Army and fought in World War I, then he was a taxi driver, then a chef, and finally a gardener at Pilgrim State Hospital in Brentwood, Long Island. John had another marriage, wife's name Ethel; they had a daughter Marjorie, who would be Consuelo's half-sister.
