Sitges, Spain

"During the 1960s, Sitges was the epicentre of Spain's counterculture movement, a liberal antidote to the ultra-conservative strictures of Franco's dictatorship." —The History of Sitges, sitgeshillsvillas.com.

In the Army in 1964 stationed in Kaiserslautern, Germany, I spent one of my leaves in Sitges on the Mediterranean coast of Spain about 33km WSW of Barcelona. These photos were not taken by me (I was "between cameras"); they were found on flickr, mainly in the Brian Candy Photographic Archive section labeled "Sitges, Spain: Holiday destination in the 1960s." It looks exactly as I remember it.
